Approach
Since I had photographed cranberries being harvested from a bog, I wanted to complete the story by showing the final destination of cranberries: the table. Collaborating with food & prop stylist Julia Viniczay, we planned a holiday themed shoot featuring cranberries. What would a cranberry-themed Christmas morning look like?
We created 3 different images, each incorporating cranberry pancakes and fresh cranberries on the same wood tabletop, to tie all the images together. Julia and I were thinking a darker, moody, romantic style. Using dark red presents with velvet bows created a romantic feel. To create a slight festive feeling, we used powdered sugar and pops of red and green throughout the composition.
