It’s easy to take for granted the place where you’ve lived for so long. My Local Getaways book project took me on a journey of re-discovering the hidden gems of the area of Connecticut I grew up in.
After moving back home to CT after living in scenic Pacific Northwest for 11 years, it was hard to figure out the best places to take friends or family visiting from afar. Over the years as a photographer here, and as a resident of Brooklyn, I’ve taken photos of various businesses and unique places.
Life is short. . . create memories and cherish where you are, even if it’s as simple as sharing snacks on a scenic walk, or sitting with a friend and glass of wine by the fire. There’s something for everyone. I hope that my imagery inspires you to partake in the Quiet Corner experience, and share memories with friends, however it may look.
