Increased Hesitancy towards Purchasing Products from Companies Using Too Much A.I.
Here were some screenshots taken from Facebook comments regarding use of AI by product companies. While there is a place for using AI to promote a product, there is growing discernment by customers about identifying if something is fake or not. I find it quite interesting that one person feels repelled by online shops that display AI images of their products. Either the AI needs to be done very very well for it to look real, OR it should just not be used in the first place, and use a real photo instead.
What happened when a local business used AI for their ad
It’s February 15, 2026 now, and perusing a local Facebook group in my community of Northeastern CT. There was a business that decided to use an AI cartoon for their post to announce their new second location. It was a cute cartoon, very innocent, nothing dramatic. However I was rather surprised at the comments. Most of them were berating the business for making this AI image. Here are screenshots of the comments!
I found it quite interesting that someone complained about expanding your carbon footprint by using AI, that’s interesting but rather factual perspective. I also like how someone pointed out about AI is the complete opposite of communicating “personal touch”.
